Our History
The Arrow Lakes and Slocan Valley region boasts a rich history. Indigenous Peoples, including the Sinixt and Ktunaxa, have inhabited this land for millennia. European exploration began in the 19th century, with fur traders and gold seekers venturing into the region.
The late 1800s saw a silver mining boom in the Slocan Valley, leading to the rapid growth of towns like Sandon and New Denver. This era left behind a legacy of historic mining sites and vibrant communities.
